FiveThirtyEight projected Mr. Gingrich to win 39 percent of the vote; he got 40 percent. Mr. Romney, whom we projected to get 29 percent, got 28 percent. We were slightly low on Rick Santorum, who got 17 percent rather than his projection of 14 percent, and slightly high on Ron Paul, who got 13 percent rather than 17 percent. What's another word for populist "left" that isn't left? Working-class but sort of reactionary. Lumpen? Prole? I have an awkward sentence in that diary I just can't seem to fix.

The best I could come up with for the brand of populist entitlement I can see him endorsing is "working-class sozialismus of the trucknutzlumpen." It's awkward but we tend to forget the reactionary socialists; like the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, for example.
