My friends who were ill in one way or another, have gotten better, and so that has also been excellent, as we depend on each other a lot.
I see that you would be included in that group as well! I don't know much about medicine, but yikes, spinal fusion does not sound pleasant. So glad that you have your life back!

Not sure it could be summed up in less than ten pages, but we work to maintain a Reasonability Field. Folks who want to pick fights either leave or calm down. We are not in any way above the nuclear option of arbitrary moderation, but something about the nature of the effort has so far led to very little need for it.
We toss around analogies like Callahan's Crosstime Saloon, but I don't think there is a simple explanation. Like Callahan's, though, you just can't be the weirdest person in this room so a lot of the tangential inertia gets damped out. Each Moose has been absent for some time. Some we haven't seen in a long time, some we may unfortunately miss forever. But that is the nature of the rest of our lives as well. The best places we return to still have a fire burning and someplace we can actually relax into when we finally make it back to them.
