"Instagram dat joint!" (2.00 / 22)
"Dear Internet" by Tina Fey

From PerezHilton.com/Posted by jerkstore on Wednesday, 1/21/2009, 11:21 P.M.

"In my opinion Tina Fey completely ruined SNL. The only reason she's celebrated is because she's a woman and an outspoken liberal. She has not a single funny bone in her body."

"Dear jerkstore,

Huzzah for the Truth Teller! Women in this country have been over-celebrated for too long. Just last night there was a story on my local news about a "missing girl," and they must have dedicated seven or eight minutes to "where she was last seen" and "how she might have been abducted by a close family friend," and I thought, "What is this, the News for Chicks?" Then there was some story about Hillary Clinton flying to some country because she's secretary of state. Why do we keep talking about these dumdums? We are a society that constantly celebrates no one but women and it must stop! I want to hear what the men of the world have been up to. What fun new guns have they invented? What are they raping these days? What's Michael Bay's next film going to be?

When I first set out to ruin SNL, I didn't think anyone would notice, but I persevered because-like you trying to do a nine-piece jigsaw puzzle-it was a labor of love.

I'm not one to toot my own horn, but I feel safe with you, jerkstore, so I'll say it. Everything you ever hated on SNL was by me, and anything you ever liked was by someone else who did it against my will.

Sincerely,

Tina Fey

P.S. You know who does have a funny bone in her body? Your mom every night for a dollar."

The Morgan/Jones interview was jaw-dropping (2.00 / 12)
I could not believe my ears. Now today, a video of some other whacko winger saying he's going to start shooting people if gun control goes one step further.

Yep. (2.00 / 9)
He may as well have been working for the other side. That sort of behavior doesn't win converts from the middle regions.

I hope your right (2.00 / 4)
He's got a huge following. And, I'm afraid while he may have turned off middlers, he was inciting the lunatics. Proof of that was the youtube video today of James Yeager. What a freak. He's supposed to appear on the Ed Show tomorrow. I'm hoping he gets arrested before then.

The lunatics, in any situation, will always be lunatics.

The question is if you can keep them from dominating the majority.

Okay, the salad gif (2.00 / 8)
is hysterical to me. It is sooooo.... true. And typical.

Commercials get on my nerves. I saw one earlier today and was bitching to someone about it... it made no sense. It was a woman sipping her tea and then smiling and laughing so joyfully... and then rolling around on her bed alone, laughing for no discernible reason.

After all that, I'm still not sure what was being advertised. (Probably tea or beds? Or cups or sheets?) I'll take note next time I see the ad and be sure not to purchase whatever it's on about.

Come to me in my dreams, and then
By day I shall be well again!
For so the night will more than pay
The hopeless longing of the day.

yeah, that salad gif got me depressed. :- / (2.00 / 3)
i've been eating salad for alost 60 years and my teeth don't look like that.
am i using too much dressing?

I'm not a big fan of commercials. I'll be very blunt, I despise them. All of them. The most recent crop of big oil, corporate propaganda that features, 'everyday, socially concious, CarrHart jacket wearing, neighbor nextdoor types', oh so earnestly describing how very concerned BP is about 'our environment', gets an immediate MUTE from me, followed by a detour to Bikini Bottom until Rachel comes back on.

Spongebob and Patrick are siily but at least they're honest.

well to be fair... (2.00 / 3)
before I worked for the government, I was a consultant in the private sector environmental compliance industry (both as a technical specialist for cultural resources, but as an environmental project manager) and BP alternative energy (a sub-division of the BP oil mongers) was one of my clients.  There are some very decent, diligent, and socially/environmentally conscious folks working for BP -- and they've done some good things with respect to alternative energy (wind energy in particular).  Not that I didn't have to deal with the occassional blowhard looking to cut corners on compliance (I did), but it wasn't often.

Not to excuse all the bad crap BP has done (and in some cases, continues to do), but BP is technically one of the biggest wind energy producers in the country right now.

With a growing business in wind power and advanced biofuels, BP Alternative Energy has invested around $7 billion in energy development, $4 billion of that in the U.S. BP Wind Energy is a principal owner and operator of wind power facilities with interests in 13 wind farms. BP Wind Energy has a gross generating capacity of 1,955 MW - enough electricity to power over 586,000 average American homes.

Safety and compliance issues are more in the news, so your perspective and experience is good to know. Thanks!
