Nurse Kelley Sez: Moondai Furbutts by Triciawyse

NOTE: I'm posting this for triciawyse, who has 'puter problems. If I weren't so lazy I would remove the rules that aren't necessary here because we're all wonderful, but I AM lazy. Please just ignore them and enjoy teh critters!

Those of you who already either know me or know of me know that I am a massive pootie person. We  moved into an apartment and now have a pootie, named Princess Ashley; however I grew up with both cats & dogs and I love both. I do not discriminate against any animal & love animal photos of all kinds. Please enjoy the following and add any photos that you think the community would like to see. Now, enjoy the photos & have some fun.

AS TO THE TERM WOOZLE - ONE OF OUR BELOVED KOSSACKS, Pandoras Box, STARTED CALLING HER DOGS WOOZLES AS A TERM OF ENDEARMENT AND THE TERM STUCK, JUST AS WITH POOTIES AND PHILLYGAL. PHILLYGAL HAD A CAT NAMED POOTIE AND THE TERM STUCK!

Of course, the usual rules apply:
1. Be nice to each other
2. No trolling the diary
3. If you hate pootie diaries, leave now.
4. Share any and all pootie/woozle photos or issues that you would like to. When it comes to problems, we may just have someone with experience who can help.
5. Whatever happens in the outer blog STAYS in the outer blog. DO NOT SHIT-STIR IN HERE! Shit stirring will be dealt with the same way we deal with trolls.
6. Also, there is no such thing as stealing a photo around here, all are offered with love and may be borrowed with just as much love.

I would like to thank the ICHC website for the majority of these photos.

As always, a HUGE hat tip to the Pootie Queen, who has been making me laugh every day for years.

It's a good day to be lazy, isn't it? (2.00 / 13)
Here's my day: watch TV - smile like a fool - watch TV - smile like a fool - lather, rinse, repeat.

Just like four years ago, I had a few minutes of terror when the Obamas got out of their limo and walked. "Get in the car! Get in the car!" I kept yelling ... until they heard me. :)

Just noticed an email from my oldest friend. (2.00 / 13)
Subject line: Get back in the car!!!!

Entire text: This scares me!!!!!  Even with the obviously excellent protection...

(Understandable. She's one of those rare Dems living in rural Texas, so she KNOWS teh crazy is real.)

Starting tomorrow - right? :) (2.00 / 14)
If I weren't so lazy I would remove the rules that aren't necessary here because we're all wonderful, but I AM lazy.

[whine] I'm having a bad day, Bubba. I cooked a roast for my pootie Tommy when he was sick and losing weight - three days ago - and it worked. Too well. He's turned into a monster, begging for MOAR! even when I'm asleep. I don't begrudge him the roast, but he doesn't have a muzzle so every single bite has to be the size of a baby caper. [sniff]

sorry to hear it, Kelley. (2.00 / 12)
That's the down side to prepping special "sick food." they want it when they're well.  My veterinarian dad used to say the hardest part was they can't tell you where it hurts.  The flip side is you can't explain "why not" to them.

and ps guess i should learn to read.

[ Parent ]
Well, at least it worked. He's eating like a little piggie. (2.00 / 12)
As soon as it's all gone - pretty quick, at this rate - we'll have one bad day of begging and then he'll forget about it.

He's not very bright. :)

Here's a gal I call "Betty Furness" (old-timer joke!) who dear figbash sent me awhile back:

And this adorable little guy was up for adoption recently at a local shelter. I SO wanted to bring him home, but the timing wasn't right. Still isn't, but one of these days...

My investigations have uncovered that triciawyse will NOT be (2.00 / 14)
providing us with a Woozle diary this week ... AGAIN! I have noticed that "Wednesday" is always the day she finds Other Things To Do. I think we may have to take it upon ourselves to feed our own insatiable need for snout pics, my dear slksfca.

I have a whole photobucket full of goggies. Maybe we should have a Bring Your Own Woozle Wednesday so that we are not begging for scraps, as they say.

TITLE: Bring Your Own Woozle Wednesday

Post a couple of woozle pics,

Make a few funny remarks,

And watch what happens.

Traditionally, PWB diaries post about 11:15 PT, but this is a new world and you can make your own rulz.

Woozle Wednesdays used to be at night. (2.00 / 12)
Remember when they were West Coast friendly Woozles? I am trying to remember who used to do them.

I am gone all day Wednesday but I might be up for bringing a few goggie pics in the early evening. But you have to convince Silks to post the diary. Tell him that it is never harmful to ones reputation to be known as a PWBPeep.

Words have meaning. Our words will reflect what is in our souls.

[ Parent ]
I might do that. (2.00 / 12)
I haven't diaried in a long time, and honestly don't feel up to hosting one & tending the comments right now. But I'll try to work myself up to it, if not this Wednesday, maybe by next week...

Here they host and tend themselves. (2.00 / 12)
Nurse Kelley is only hanging out here because this is where we are. Normally the diary gathers a handful of comments throughout the day then a few more later in the evening and then a few more tomorrow. This is not like the mad rush on the GOS. Here our snouts are savored. :) <--- snoutless smile!

Jan, as you might know, (2.00 / 9)
my bandwidth is at almost zero and won't be back up until sometime late Wednesday evening. I used almost every ounce of bandwidth I had to get Monday and Tuesday diaries. I promise next week, there will be a proper woozle diary.

Hooray for pootie diaries! Thanks for posting this. (2.00 / 14)
I'm not a regular visitor, but enjoy them when I think of opening one. I have a basement cat called Mimi (Miriam). 15, and full of life still. Luckily.

The pootie peeps were my first blogging family. (2.00 / 14)
There I was, reading that huge intimidating blog, and terrified to open my mouth. I read the daily pootie diaries, saw how kind everyone was, and started asking dumb questions about things I read elsewhere. Like

Why do all polls offer pie as a choice?

What is a troll?

Who is ErrinF?

How do I do this? This? This?

So for me, at least, it's not about LOLs so much as it is a chance to chat for a bit with old friends. Someone will have to lay down the law have a quiet word with me or Tricia if this particular bit of our old lives isn't wanted here. Purple pootie diaries are like taking a special blankie to a sleep-over.

Lol, my friend's goats stick their noses (2.00 / 5)
deep into the round bales, too. Sweeter hay in there?

[ Parent ]
Yes, when things got rough on DK, I often fled to the (2.00 / 13)
pootie diaries, and had one phase about four years ago (I think the Clinton-Obama primary wars - whew, that was horrific) where the pooties diaries were the only place I could deal with. Great people there, but my freelancing work (getting it and then doing it) keeps me pretty busy, so I don't always hang out on the blogs. Also I work at the computer all day, so I sometimes  need a break.

I'm glad you like it here - the pace is really nice and slow, much more enjoyable.

Why do all polls offer pie as a choice?

What do you expect? Cake? How silly.

What is a troll?

A sad needy little creature that, when fed, turns into a nasty hateful beast.

Who is ErrinF?

I thought we covered this already.

How do I do this?

You need a roll of SaranWrap, a plunger, and a butane lighter.

This?

Just ask the dik-dik nicely.

This?

Wow, Nurse Kelley, we don't allow that on The Moose!

At the pharmacy this morning... (2.00 / 13)
...I stood in line behind a big burly guy with a grubby, canvas military surplus-type bag hanging off his shoulder. Imagine my surprise when a wee chihuahua head popped out of the shoulder bag and glared at me. This guy was about as far from Paris Hilton or that Legally Blonde chick as someone could be, yet he shared the same exact accessory as those ladies. ;-)

Noddy (at GOS) has a hearing dog that is a chihuahua, and takes him (2.00 / 11)
everywhere. Her stories about Itzl are a marvel. If you haven't read them yet, you've missed some fabulous and extremely entertaining writing. Your mention of the chihuahua got me started. They seem to be very bright animals, Itzl can do some  really amazing things.

While I don't claim to be a photographer, I spend most of my time running around with my camera. :) Those dogs were a lot of fun. I don't know how they did it. I managed to keep my feet in the surf until they turned bright red and went numb (about 20 minutes). LOL The water was cold.

An odd stat: San Francisco has more dogs than children. We can't have a dog as there is nowhere safe in our neighborhood to take them for walkies. I won't have them pooping on the sidewalk as that's just crass. We love to watch the beach woozles when we can and they seem to know we're friendly as they tend to stop and visit and wait for scritches. :)

I did not get new puppy pictures this weekend. (2.00 / 10)
So sorry. We had a woozle emergency that turned into a gargantuan affair this weekend. My buddies ate some poisonous mushrooms. Lucky for them, it works like food poisoning -- unlike some of us, where you're already dead or need a new liver by the time you figure out the mistake.

Anyway, since it was the weekend, we had to go to puppy ER. The vet was horribly incompetent (I'll post the story once it's done playing out) and made the ordeal much worse than it needed to be.

For all who don't know me, we recently adopted two puppies with megaesophagus. My biggest problem is that most vets don't know anything about the condition, and only consult vet wikis that say horrible things. This vet told me that I had to put my puppies down because I could never manage them (this, when she'd never met one, and the other was jumping up and down trying to play with us.) Anyway, I'll tell you the story when I get some distance. She gave us counterindicated meds and she never saw past the mega-e long enough to make a correct diagnosis. And she charged us $1000. Good thing we didn't bring in both puppies.

Anyway, the puppies are fine now. They both cured themselves, once they got enough stuff out of both ends.

Thankfully, our vet group is competent.

Pictures next weekend.

In the past four weeks (2.00 / 3)
they've gone from 8 pounds to 17. The average size for this hybird (goldendoodle) at this age is 20 pounds. Yeah, they're scrawny. I'm getting so I can't pick them up if they don't want to cooperate...

The funny thing is that while the vet was telling me this, the vet tech was saying, "I can't get him to go potty outside -- he just wants to play."

Anyway, I'll tell the whole story, once it plays out completely.

"Broccoli is revolutionary. Broccoli could take down a government."  --Kris Carr

[ Parent ]
Oh! I have many funny pup-pootie stories. (2.00 / 4)
The cat is getting a lot more exercise lately.

One of their favorite games is whack-a-puppy. It's the same as whack-a-mole, but the cat perches up on a chair and pops the puppies on the head when they jump up to play with her. All three seem to love this game.

Mokey really wants to be friends with the cat. They are starting to warm up to each other. Problem is that Sprocket wants to tackle the cat. Mokey plays nice with the cat until Sprocket shows up, and then she expects the cat to play like a puppy.

Watching puppies play is more entertaining than a lot of things...
