Make sure you let your peeps know where to find you!

JanF :: Wednesday Morning Herd Check-in and Open Thread for the Moosekins
If you are new to the Moose, Kysen left a Moose Welcome Mat (Part Deux) so, please, wipe your feet before you walk in the front door start posting.

The important stuff to get you started:
- Comments do not Auto-refresh. Click the refresh/reload on your tab to see new ones.
- To check for replies to your comments, click the "My Comments" link in the right-hand column (or go to "My Moose"). Comments will be listed and a link to Recent Replies will be shown. (Note: Tending comments builds community)
- Ratings: Fierce means Thumbs Up, Fail means Thumbs Down, Meh means one of three things: I am unFailing you but I can't Fierce you, I am unFiercing after a mistaken Fierce, or Meh. Just Meh.
- Ratings don't bestow mojo, online behaviour does.
- Only click Post once for comments. When a diary's comment thread gets longer, it takes a bit to reload and the comment may not display as quickly. Clicking the Post button twice puts the comment out there twice. (h/t Khloe)
- When creating a new diary, remember to choose the Draft option (near the bottom) while you are working on it. Choose the Public option when you want to publish it. (h/t Khloe)

(Some other commenting/posting/tending notes for newbies can be found in this past check-in and, of course, consult Meese Mehta for all your questions on meesely decorum.)

Here is a great link to have open in a tab: Motley Moose Recent Comments

This is pretty darned easy to remember ... the posting rules for a new diary:

What did they expect?

It didn't snow, rain, sleep, ice, or fog last night. In my book, that makes it a great day!

A separate thought.......

Love Juanita Jean's Beauty Salon, usually one of my first morning check ins. Best spot on the net for keeping up with crazy politics in Texas ...and that's saying a lot!

JJ / WMDBS is on my must-read-daily list also. (2.00 / 8)
As is Jim Wright's Stonekettle Station. He doesn't write as often (and that's a shame) but when he does, it's most excellent...

Good morning Moose. 50 in Wilmington and Racer and I are (2.00 / 20)
lazy.  Sadie is making progress, hooray!  Everyone have a great day.

"Pin your money to your girdle and don't talk to strangers."  My Grandmom's advice when I went away to school.  I don't wear a girdle and have never met a stranger.  Sorry Grandmom!

I'm so happy Baby Sadie is getting better. (2.00 / 20)
You have a great day also.

Just too tired (2.00 / 20)
for words....

Been engrossed in stuff at work.  I fell asleep during the SOTU! :-(

But at least read following here.  Appreciate that! Needed for people so exhausted they can't stay awake once the body goes horizontal! Lol

When you do sleep, is it a good sleep? (2.00 / 20)

I meant the "diary following it" (meaning the SOTU)...

Gah.

Good morning - (2.00 / 21)
currently 32°, with an expected high of 45. Rain is forecast for this afternoon, and if my sinuses are any indication, we're going to get that rain.

Except for the shingles (to be put on this morning) and door (to be custom made by me this weekend - I didn't like the door that came with the building), the workshop is built. I'll post photos to bore everybody with at a later date. We have 60 days to paint it, according to the warranty. However, the siding is already primed, so that should go fairly quickly.

Talked to the power company rep Monday afternoon. We came up with a plan that not only will get power to the building, but will make it much easier to get power to the house when we build it. And, no hook-up fees! Only costs will be the breaker panel and assorted stuff needed in the building, a trencher to trench for underground cable, and the conduit to put the cable in then bury.

No matter where you go, there you are...

Sounds like it's coming together quickly. (2.00 / 21)
I'm looking forward to the diary.

Looking forward to the pictures! (2.00 / 9)
So glad all went well with the power company.  Thank goodness for anything that turns out easier and/or cheaper than anticipated!

Good morning to all from a mild NYC. Couldn't (2.00 / 20)
bear watching Rubio. He turned me off with his first sentence so I turned him off. Will now read the reviews and see how the MSM thought he did.

Just the same old crap wrapped in happy words. (2.00 / 20)
Do enjoy your nice day.

I turned off the video as soon as POTUS finished (2.00 / 20)
figgered I could read about pendejo Rubio this morning.

Good morning. (2.00 / 22)
22 going up to near 40 here in st Charles.  We may go for a walk later. I have what feels like a sinus infection though.  Need ibuprofen more than coffee this morning.  Have a great day all.

Good morning. It is sunny and cold this morning here in (2.00 / 21)
central NJ. It should be a nice day, but we will be getting more snow tonight. I hope it is only the 1-3 inches that the weather service has predicted. I need to be in the office early tomorrow for office hours and my grad seminar.

25F and sunny here in central eastern Iowa. (2.00 / 16)
Nothing new in my department... unfortunately...  Will they please hurry up and tell me that they want to hire me!?!?!?!?

Mixed on the Speech last night.  I heard a few things that could mean too many different things, particularly about earned benefits.

good morning moose (2.00 / 17)
it's in the high 20s this morning heading for a nice warm up later. We'll be installing another window as soon as it warms up a bit. I've just about finished clearing out mr w's office, otherwise known as the place where paper goes to die. I've been chipping away on the borders for a week now and yesterday mr w had the horrible realization that I was very close to his desk. I'm expecting him to make some preemptive strikes on it today to ward me off.

i think we were all getting spoiled w/ the spring like weather (2.00 / 12)
a week or so ago. this is still nice though, considering.

Good morning! (2.00 / 16)
It is a gray sky and 27 degrees in the Burgh. We may get a bit of snow later on.

The cats are very excited-there are very chirpy birds in our bushes just by the windows. I really think the birds enjoy teasing the pooties :-)

Peace, Hope, Faith, Love

It is 43f in a place not far from Dollywood. (2.00 / 14)
And damp. Not wet, not dripping, just damp in all directions.

But the Sun and the Warm are not so far away.

I love Pigeon Forge. (2.00 / 13)
We spent a July 4th weekend there, and visited Gatlinburg too. Love it there. Didn't go to Dollywood, though.

Haven't had the chance yet. (2.00 / 12)
Just landed here in August, still shaking the fur out of things. But it is on the very-soon radar.

One of the reasons we moved here was all that. Not just the organized stuff, as locals we can tube down rivers and stomp around verdant hills all day long.

Gotta take in Dollywood, though. Love that crazy lady. :~)

Morning Moose People (2.00 / 12)
A brisk 40* this AM in North Texas and it is supposed to top out somewhere around 60*

Hope everyone has a good Wednesday.

41F and foggy in the City. (2.00 / 11)
We should reach the upper 50s later on when I do errands in the 'hood.

President did a good job last night, better on substance than on style, which is fine with me. So it wasn't a campaign barnburner. I liked it. :-)

Definite nip in the air this morning in my little spot of (2.00 / 10)
N. Texas. So glad I didn't give in to my gardening ambition last week-- the temps drop down to below freezing here last night. We're suppose to be on a warming trend here for the next few days, but I'm still expecting a big weather surprise. After the freaky snow in April six or seven years ago, I don't trust spring is here until the temps start sticking to 80 and above!

I don't trust spring is here until the temps start sticking to 80 and above!

If I held to that rule I'd be waiting until September. And that's only a very mild exaggeration. ;-)

Busy Day... (2.00 / 10)
Major new phone hacking arrests today which could open up a whole new raft of victims...

Good morning all. Pardon my yawning... (2.00 / 8)
Tired, tired, tired... too much work and not enough hours to stuff it all into.  Have a good day, all.

43* and cloudy in Bellingham today.... (2.00 / 6)
I've got the PT pool this morning and my grand girls this afternoon....and I'm already needing a nap. It's going to be a sleepy day, all day. But I won't forget to have fun regardless!

Love is the lasting legacy of our lives

50's, breezy, and blue, blue skies in east Texas (2.00 / 5)
Just posted a summary diary of my limericks from last night's SOTU live-blogging over at the Place That Shall Not Be Named.

I never travel without my diary. One should always have something sensational to read in the train.
