Week-long Welcomings from Moosylvania: November 9th

Welcome to The Moose Pond! The Welcomings posts give the Moose, old and new, a place to visit and share words about the weather, life, the world at large and the small parts of Moosylvania that we each inhabit.

Welcomings will be posted at the start of each week (usually Saturday night with a Sunday date). To find the posts, just bookmark this link and Voila! (which is Moose for “I found everyone!!”).

The format is simple: each day, the first moose to arrive on-line will post a comment welcoming the new day and complaining (or bragging!) about their weather. Or mentioning an interesting or thought provoking news item. Or simply checking in.

So … what’s going on in your part of Moosylvania?

NOTE: The comments page will split off after 20 or so left margin comments with the most recent comments on the current page. To see the older comments, scroll to the bottom of the page (right before “Leave A Reply”) and use the Pages Tool to view previous pages, shown here with 3 pages of comments available and Page 2 circled.

  1. Good Saturday morning, Meese. It’s gray and 50 F. here in Ashburn rising to 64 F. later, but no rain is forecast until late evening. For the first time in a while, I didn’t suffer leg cramps during the night, so have had a night’s uninterrupted sleep. I attribute that to the hot water bottle snuggled cosily at the foot of the bed. It’s dressed in its own little turtleneck sweater.

    It’s very tough getting used to being alone. Dearly called before 8 a.m. this morning, wanting to know where his shaving gear is. Told him that trousers and shaver are in his “go bag.” This afternoon there is a Drama Club meeting, the last of the year. In December we’ll have the last Board meeting of the year, thank Goddess! One less thing to do.

    Bfitz, at one time I took calcium tablets, with such deleterious effects that I stopped taking them. I did take magnesium for a while and it worked, but magnesium tablets are expensive. I’ll see how well the hot water bottle works before I start doing that again.

    Must get going on the chores. Wishing a good day to all at the Pond.

    • {{{Diana}}} It IS very hard to get used to living alone. It’s a one day, sometimes one hour, at a time thing. And appreciation of having things to do to distract oneself.

      Glad the hot water bottle helped and you got good sleep. A 3-month supply of Natural Factors Magnesium Citrate is ~$30 from Amazon. Since I don’t have Prime, I get a 6-month supply at a time so I don’t have to pay shipping.

      Holding you in The Light and in my heart. Healing Energy. Moar {{{HUGS}}}

  2. Good morning. Back to, not summer but definitely not fall weather — lows in the 60s, highs in the 80s. Sigh. Going to kickboxing this morning, I swear.

  3. Good morning, 45 and raining in Bellingham. I stayed busy yesterday but the double whammy of worrying about aging issues and the orange mess kept me awake last night so I’m tired and grumpy this morning. Oh well, coffee will help and then I’ll find something interesting to do. Best wishes to all.
