Welcome to The Moose Pond! The Welcomings posts give the Moose, old and new, a place to visit and share words about the weather, life, the world at large and the small parts of Moosylvania that we each inhabit.
Welcomings will be posted at the start of each week (usually Saturday night with a Sunday date). To find the posts, just bookmark this link and Voila! (which is Moose for “I found everyone!!”).
The format is simple: each day, the first moose to arrive on-line will post a comment welcoming the new day and complaining (or bragging!) about their weather. Or mentioning an interesting or thought provoking news item. Or simply checking in.
So … what’s going on in your part of Moosylvania?
…
NOTE: The comments page will split off after 20 or so left margin comments with the most recent comments on the current page. To see the older comments, scroll to the bottom of the page (right before “Leave A Reply”) and use the Pages Tool to view previous pages, shown here with 3 pages of comments available and Page 2 circled.

Good Wednesday morning, Moosekind! We received .33 of an inch of rain yesterday, not all at once. I may tell you it hardly makes a dent in the 5-inch deficit.
It’s a gorgeous day here, 63 F. heading for 77 F., except there is too much wind for my taste. I have Nails at 11 with Mr. Tony.
Neither Dearly nor I can figure out how he Roku works, so we’re up a creek until one of our kids or grandkids comes over. I have to get ready today to conduct my writers’ group meeting tomorrow, because there’s a lecture I’d like to attend at 11 a.m. tomorrow and it lasts an hour. I’ll barely have time to bake the strawberry scones and take the lemon curd and clotted cream out of the fridge before it’s time to wheel it all over to Neighborhood 3, where we meet.
One thing about acting in plays, Moosekind—it keeps the loathsome outside world from intruding overmuch. We’ve got the Israeli-Hamas war and now the India-Pakistan war? I wish Kashmir were an independent country. Oh, and don’t forget the Houthis! Bah.
Wishing a good day to all at the Pond!
It’s 59 heading for 69 and overcast. The lights are on and the PV system isn’t. Yesterday we generated 5.8 KWHs and the m-t-d at 97.9 is losing ground.
I’ll have a fire this afternoon and do laundry to hang in front of it. I wasn’t expecting to do another in the house this season but here we are. In many ways I do prefer it. I don’t have to carry a full laundry basket over uneven ground to get to where I hang it is the major reason. That and the cats can’t get out because I’m not opening the back door.
This dark & damp (& relatively chilly) makes it hard for me to get up, slow to move, and always groggy. Sigh. Anyway, I’ve had my oatmeal and had best be about my boosting day. Try to do my little bit of good, light that one half a candle, in a very dark and evil world. Holding the Good/Healing/Protecting Thought for everybody. {{{Meeses}}}
Good morning, 49 and cloudy in Bellingham today. Bri will be here soon so focusing on moving plants, pruning laurel branches growing to close to the barbeque, feeding the trees growing in pots, etc will keep me busy. I’ll soon be ready plant a few flowers and knowing that will be easier this year feels fine.
The implant is finally finished, the new tooth is settling in, I like the new dentist, and now I hope to have a rest from tooth troubles. Best wishes to all.
{{{princesspat}}} Yay for easier gardening and especially YAY! for a rest from tooth troubles! Healing Energy. Moar {{{HUGS}}}
