Week-long Welcomings from Moosylvania: November 2nd

Welcome to The Moose Pond! The Welcomings posts give the Moose, old and new, a place to visit and share words about the weather, life, the world at large and the small parts of Moosylvania that we each inhabit.

Welcomings will be posted at the start of each week (usually Saturday night with a Sunday date). To find the posts, just bookmark this link and Voila! (which is Moose for “I found everyone!!”).

The format is simple: each day, the first moose to arrive on-line will post a comment welcoming the new day and complaining (or bragging!) about their weather. Or mentioning an interesting or thought provoking news item. Or simply checking in.

So … what’s going on in your part of Moosylvania?

NOTE: The comments page will split off after 20 or so left margin comments with the most recent comments on the current page. To see the older comments, scroll to the bottom of the page (right before “Leave A Reply”) and use the Pages Tool to view previous pages, shown here with 3 pages of comments available and Page 2 circled.

  1. It’s 50 heading for 73 and sunny. Yesterday we generated 6.17 KWHs and the m-t-d at 43.63 gained a smidge and is on track.

    Saw the moon this morning but She’s already at the point in Her cycle when she’s too high in the sky when I get up to visibly shine in my room/on my bed. Still lovely of course. Did my bathroom as usual for Saturday then went to the Farmers Market for apples. Winesaps are still in so I got some of those but the Pink Ladies are in now so I got some of those too. And I saw some green beans that looked good. I haven’t had fresh green beans at all this year so I got those as well. Then went home before I spent any more money. In our capitalist society Farmer Market food is for those who can afford it. As wrong as that is. Anyway, I’m off to start my boosting day. Holding the Good/Healing/Protecting Thought for everybody. {{{Meeses}}}

  2. Good Saturday morning, Meese. It’s 62 F. right now in Ashburn, going up to 70 F. or worse. Last night, as forecast, we had RAIN—oh, the delightful sound!

    After I came home from the play last night (it was excellent, BTW), Don had to be taken by ambulance to the hospital. He’s now in Medical Intensive Care. I have had to run around finding his paperwork. Had breakfast and meds., now must get washed and brushed for a day at the hospital. Dr. M. called and wanted both our sons to call him for an update on Dearly’s condition. He is very, very ill. I am afraid this is going to be the end.

    Will talk to you later, Meese.

  3. Good morning. Supposed to be a major fold front coming. This morning I’m in capris & sandals, tomorrow I’ll need a coat. Crazy. Doing laundry and will go to kickboxing later.

  4. Good morning, 44 and cloudy in Bellingham today. I’ve got flowers waiting for me to arrange and a cake to bake so if my legs cooperate I should have a fun day. Trying to stay realistic re how much I can physically do remains a challenge, but oh well. Best wishes to all.

  5. Good morning, meeses! Saturday …

    It is a lovely day in the Old Pueblo, 56 degrees when I awakened and about 82 now. Abundant sunshine.

    I was busy this morning and have a busy weekend of getting caught up.

    See all y’all later!
