Week-long Welcomings from Moosylvania: June 28th

Welcome to The Moose Pond! The Welcomings posts give the Moose, old and new, a place to visit and share words about the weather, life, the world at large and the small parts of Moosylvania that we each inhabit.

Welcomings will be posted at the start of each week (usually Saturday night with a Sunday date). To find the posts, just bookmark this link and Voila! (which is Moose for “I found everyone!!”).

The format is simple: each day, the first moose to arrive on-line will post a comment welcoming the new day and complaining (or bragging!) about their weather. Or mentioning an interesting or thought provoking news item. Or simply checking in.

So … what’s going on in your part of Moosylvania?

NOTE: The comments page will split off after 20 or so left margin comments with the most recent comments on the current page. To see the older comments, scroll to the bottom of the page (right before “Leave A Reply”) and use the Pages Tool to view previous pages, shown here with 3 pages of comments available and Page 2 circled.

  1. Good Tuesday morning, Meese! Full Moon Energy—is that what I have? Yesterday I baked carrot bran muffins, this morning it’s three and a half dozen oatmeal cookies. It’s a gorgeous morning, already 80 F. and planning to get up to 90 F. later. Tomorrow, Thursday, and Friday will be impossible: 100 F. plus each day.

I didn’t see the Strawberry Moon the first time I went out, at 9:30 p.m., but I did the second time at 10:30! She is BEAUTIFUL! I was so excited I took a photo and informed my neighbor across the hall by text. He couldn’t see it from his place, but finally went out in front of our building and saw it. Another friend sent me a photo he’d taken from his balcony.

Plans for the day include Getting Hair Done, studying my French grammar book, and finishing the sections. There will be a Progressives March on Thursday morning—we all gonna die, it will be so blinking hot—but that’s OK.

The vampire left a horrible bruise on my left arm where she stabbed it repeatedly, trying to find a vein. I am so annoyed.

Can a person be annoyed and grateful at the same time? I’m grateful for friends like y’all, for my roof, the cot and three hots, and for being in pretty good health for an old bag.

Wishing everyone at the Pond a good day!
