Good morning. Well, the Texas Board of Education passed requirements that schoolkids read Bible stories yesterday. Oh, and Margaret Thatcher’s eulogy for Ronald Reagan. Because the current level of sanctification of Ronnie Raygun is insufficient. Great. Anyway, I’m getting ready for kickboxing. Going to cook mini spinach-filled cornbread things for dinner next week. Hope it works.
M’mm, I love cornbread, especially the way they make it in Texas. Texans don’t load it up with SUGAR!

I can’t imagine how awful it must feel to try to raise kids to be intelligent human beings in the current political climate.
I remember my daughter having to finish high school under the Scott Walker regime in Wisconsin and watching the deterioration of the local public schools. To have the education of children in the hands of white male christian nationalists would be infuriating.
It’s 70 and raining, neither of which were in last night’s weather forecast (we were supposed to hit our overnight low of 74 around 1 am). It’s also very dark and the PV system is still in night mode. Yesterday we generated 11.61 KWHs and the m-t-d at 345.96 is at least creeping up on our current June lowest production of 359. Not likely to get over that today but very possible tomorrow.
When the rain started I went back to sleep and didn’t wake up until almost 7. Very unusual for this time of year although common in winter. I’m still very groggy. Cats all seem to be fine this morning – now they’ve all been fed. Hoping I’ll also be find once my breakfast, which I’m currently eating, kicks in. Off to start my boosting day. Good Saturday morning, Meese! It’s cloudy and 74 F. in Ashburn this morning.
Nothing much planned for today other than a Trader Joe’s run pretty soon and dinner tonight at 5 with B. I refuse to watch “March of the Penguins,” which is tonight’s movie. Saw it once and wept buckets. Nora put the false eyelashes on me last night. My eyelids feel tired from holding them up. I don’t think these things are going to be a permanent fixture, it took her an hour to put them on. She’s not wearing them herself at the moment because she wants to go swimming. One bit of good news is that her internship at Inova Loudoun begins in July, so she will be spending one night a week with me. I live less than 15 minutes from that hospital. She wants eggs and Canadian bacon for breakfast so it looks as if dear old Granny will have some cooking to do. She also wants hot chocolate for breakfast rather than tea or coffee—very un-English of her.
We’re supposed to have heavy rains and thunderstorms this morning. I have carrot bran muffins to bake (they taste a lot better than they probably sound) this week, and oatmeal cookies. Must get it all done BEFORE Wednesday, as it’s supposed to be 100 F. Thursday and Friday.

It is 81 degrees in Tucson 🌵 with an expected daytime high of 102. Sunny skies are in the forecast. The nearly full moon was high in the SW sky last night – she will be full on June 29th at 4:56pm MST.
I was fairly certain that I remembered that June was historically the hottest month here but I looked it up. ‘Tis true! The last 5 hottest temperatures are in Junes with the historical high for the month being 101.2. July is not too far behind at 100.2 but basically if you take a deep breath and just deal with the heat from the middle of June to the middle of July, you can coast into September and October. We finally got our air conditioning back (it just needed a leak fix and recharge and the right technician to diagnose it) so we are now set.
I am rebuilding my network infrastructure this morning because I am avoiding doing accounting. I have it pretty well set up but I have a few little tweaks to make. I set my new office in a bit of a rush and forgot about a hub I had installed to extend part of the network. I am going to have to do a better job of documenting where the cabling goes this time and labeling the cable ends.
