Welcome to The Moose Pond! The Welcomings posts give the Moose, old and new, a place to visit and share words about the weather, life, the world at large and the small parts of Moosylvania that we each inhabit.
Welcomings will be posted at the start of each week (usually Saturday night with a Sunday date). To find the posts, just bookmark this link and Voila! (which is Moose for “I found everyone!!”).
The format is simple: each day, the first moose to arrive on-line will post a comment welcoming the new day and complaining (or bragging!) about their weather. Or mentioning an interesting or thought provoking news item. Or simply checking in.
So … what’s going on in your part of Moosylvania?

NOTE: The comments page will split off after 20 or so left margin comments with the most recent comments on the current page. To see the older comments, scroll to the bottom of the page (right before “Leave A Reply”) and use the Pages Tool to view previous pages, shown here with 3 pages of comments available and Page 2 circled.

Good gray Saturday morning, Meese! “They” say we’re gonna git it tomorrow. Actually, it looks as if it’d like to start snowing right this minute. Currently in Ashburn it’s 36 F., going up to 43 F. We’re under a winter storm watch.
Yesterday I had a 10 o’clock meeting with two members of the Drama Club, followed by coffee (worst I’ve ever had, couldn’t drink it) with one of my writers, who is becoming a close friend, at 11 and then a pedi in the afternoon. Mr. Tony giggled through his mask every time I screamed. Well, my feet are problematic. Very likely most Pisces females have problem feet. Look at Cinderella.
Anyway, as it’s forecast to snow tomorrow, I need to do everything today: get hair done, pop by the grocery store, and so forth.
Couldn’t see the Moon last night but used my SkyView Lite (free) app to look at two bright stars. One of them was Orion and one was Ursa Major. Quite exciting! I’m so ignorant of astronomy.
Time to get going to the gym. Y’all be sure to play naicely! Wishing a good day to all at the Pond.
It’s 32 heading for 34 – but the real high was 40 just after midnight. Sunny at the moment but the widget says clouds will move in soon. No sign of them in the sky yet. Yesterday we generated 6.2 KWHs – break even. We didn’t lose any ground but we didn’t gain any either. The m-t-d at 93.1 is still not on track.
Saw the moon this morning when I got up. It was too cloudy last night. It’s 36 years since Momma died. Seems like forever and also yesterday. I’m 25 years older now than she was when she died. Feels weird whenever I think about it. Nothing I can do – about much of anything – but keep on keepin’ on. So. Off to start my boosting day. Holding the Good/Healing/Protecting Thought for everybody. {{{Meeses}}}
Ah, bfitz. My mother said, “You never forget the day your mother dies.”
Your mother was right. {{{Diana}}}
