Welcome to The Moose Pond! The Welcomings posts give the Moose, old and new, a place to visit and share words about the weather, life, the world at large and the small parts of Moosylvania that we each inhabit.

Welcomings will be posted at the start of each week (usually Saturday night with a Sunday date). To find the posts, just bookmark this link and Voila! (which is Moose for “I found everyone!!”).
The format is simple: each day, the first moose to arrive on-line will post a comment welcoming the new day and complaining (or bragging!) about their weather. Or mentioning an interesting or thought provoking news item. Or simply checking in.
So … what’s going on in your part of Moosylvania?
…
NOTE: The comments page will split off after 20 or so left margin comments with the most recent comments on the current page. To see the older comments, scroll to the bottom of the page (right before “Leave A Reply”) and use the Pages Tool to view previous pages, shown here with 3 pages of comments available and Page 2 circled.

Good morning. Did so much yesterday: kickboxing, housework, and made 2 dishes for the next couple of weeks. Currently, my gallon of tea is steeping and I’m watching local news – which is actually talking about local stuff. Hope everyone has a good day.
It’s 59 heading for 79 and sunny at the moment although it’s not supposed to stay that way. Yesterday we generated 16.62 KWHs and the m-t-d at 323.34 with 4 production days to go is at least likely to get above the currently April low of 335.
Between bedtime and midnight we got about 1.5″ rain. Then it cleared off and the moon was shining into my bedroom. Barely onto the foot of my bed. Didn’t make it all the way across the foot of my bed before she was blocked by the ugly house next door. Sigh. But she was back shining a window-shaped patch on the east wall by 3 as her path moved north of the ugly house. So we got both rain and moonlight. A nice omen. I hope. Meanwhile I’d best be about my boosting day. Holding the Good/Healing/Protecting Thought for everybody. {{{Meeses}}}

I don’t know if this is something to report or not, but when I go to DK via your link the comments won’t load. But if I get to DK on my own and track down your diary (basically go into my followers list, find & click on you, then click the diary in your list of diaries), they load just fine.
I’m always logged in, but I have to reload a diary at least twice to get the comments to load.
I was blessed that my old link to my stream transferred to the new site as a link to my profile page. I don’t know whether that means I’m logged in or not. But without a stream I’m either stuck trying to find something in that firehose of diaries on the front page or know which of my followers (also transferred over) wrote what I’m looking for. I don’t know if it’s any easier for you folks to find anything. But that mess with the comments is, well, a mess.
If they are using WordPress comments, there are a lot of glitches with them. If they are using a third party’s commenting system, there are all sorts of connection issues that are introduced. I am still surprised that they chose WordPress – it is not a very robust system for an organization that has had its own programming staff for yeara.
(Well, if it ever happens that I don’t have to try to log in five times before I get in, that will be a good day.)
Sorry I’ve been incommunicado almost all weekend. Have felt so exhausted that I’ve been staying in bed. Last night I did go to the performance in costume, which we are required to do. The director told me I was terrific during the Friday matinee, which surprised and pleased me. However, to keep me from getting too swollen-headed, the woman who plays Jack as well as Cinderella’s prince told me I need to be quicker with my lines. Huh? OK. The fact that one of our costumers died yesterday in hospital is making the members of the Drama Club very sad.
Have missed y’all but hope to feel better soon. Going to grab a shower and meet a colleague for dinner. I wish this awful, useless cough would stop. It’s not an interesting, hollow-sounding tubercular cough. It’s just a little “ah-ah” thing, like something tickling the back of my throat. Hope y’all are having a good day!
P.S. I think the whole thing was staged because his numbers are dropping.
{{{Diana}}} Hope you feel better soon. Lots of rest is good. Lots of liquids, either warm or cold, and cough drops are all I can suggest for the cough. And you can’t do either while you’re on stage so that doesn’t help much. Always rough, losing a member of the team. Holding you in The Light and in my heart. Healing Energy. Blessed Be. Moar {{{HUGS}}}
Thank you, my love.
I hope you feel better soon!
Thanks, BlogGoddess!
Monday Meese 41 here in Kingston going up to 68 and sunny
Puerto Rico
Good morning. It is August hot. No, seriously, it’s 75 degrees before dawn. Walked my 1.5 mi and even ran a little. Anyway, hi. Happy Monday.
It’s 73 heading for 85 very windy but the sun’s trying to break through the cloud cover. Yesterday we generated 17.4 KWHs and the m-t-d at 340.75 says that at least we’re not in last place for April generation and still have 4 production days to go.
Gonna have to do laundry today and take it to the laundromat to dry. There’s chance of rain every single day this week but it’s too warm for a fire until Friday. Maybe. If the forecast doesn’t change. I’d rather have clean laundry today at the expense of schlepping it to the laundromat and paying $2 for the dryer than wind up needing to do the same thing after all on Friday because I trusted a weather forecast. LOL. But for now I’d best be about my boosting day. Holding the Good/Healing/Protecting Thought for everybody. {{{Meeses}}}
Accidentally touched one wrong button and lost my entire post! Duhh…
Sunny and 53 F. in Ashburn, heading for 70 F. Had another night of going to bed at 10:15 and finding myself still awake at 1 a.m. Went into the living room and spent the rest of the night in the green recliner, must have dropped off around 2 or something. I must google GERD and find out what can be done about it. This constant coughing is ruining my day and my sleep.
We have a day off! have a dinner date at 6. Must study the script, hope to exercise. Wishing a good day to all at the Pond.
Good morning, meeses! Monday …
It is 81 in Tucson with an expected daytime high of 85. Sunny skies are in the forecast. The winds have died down after two days of high winds. It rattles the palm trees and disturbs our sleep.
I was surprised to see the White House Correspondents dinner was still a thing. I thought that after the orange garbage dumpster’s first administration’s treatment of the press, they would cancel it. I guess “journalists” really have no limits on how much destruction of the rights of the press they will tolerate in the name of “access.” Future generations will spit on their graves.
Also, it is interesting how “assassins” always show up “breaching” security when tRump’s rating get very low. Just sayin’.
I spent most of Friday and significantly hours trying to troubleshoot an error in some software dome of my clients use. It turns out that a Microsoft update was not well tested and created a problem. I am just happy that there is a fix but it is irritating to have dealt with it.
I was glad to see WNBA basketball again. I am leaning towards choosing the Golden State Valkyries as my team but I want to see the Toronto Tempo and the Atlanta Dream, Angel Reese’s new team, first. Maybe I will need to have multiple favorite teams. :)
See all y’all later!
Tuesday Meese. 46 going up to 66 here in Kingston.Dropped my phone yesterday into a bucket of water. Guess I’m finally going to have to get an upgrade.
Puerto Rico/Puerto Ricans
Good morning. It is crazy hot – 77 at 6:30 am. Glad I’m not walking this morning. Getting ready for work.
It’s 60 heading for 70 today. Sunny at the moment but it’s gray skies to the west so that’s not going to last long. Yesterday we generated 16.57 KWHs and the m-t-d at 357.32 is creeping up on the 376 we did in 2017. The techbros have redesigned the SolarEdge data center page. If they’re not going to go back to what the original default was I hope they stick with this one. They’ve reduced it back to 2 columns with the static data (location, size of system) under the live “system flow” data which gives the cumulative data enough room to be easy to read.
I hope it was just the dust and grass seed/pollen stirred up by the lawn guys being here yesterday but something was definitely in the air yesterday afternoon. It messed with my eyes more than my sinuses but poor Natalia was sneezing and going through tissues all evening. We both ended up taking generic Benadryl so we could get some sleep. And of course I’m still groggy. Oh well, I’m frequently groggy in the mornings. (Just not this groggy. LOL.) Hands are stiff (they don’t hurt, just stiff and slow) as well. The relatively sudden drop in temps may have something to do with that. Or the rain that’s predicted to start in another hour or so. Or both. At least we do have a nice relatively cool 60s & 70s for the next 10 days. Very pleasant after the taste of summer we got yesterday.
Meanwhile it’s end of month and there are a lot of people asking for help with rent that I’d best get to boosting. Holding the Good/Healing/Protecting Thought for everybody. {{{Meeses}}}
Good Tuesday morning, Meese. It’s still gray and gloomy outside. One of the nice guys I had dinner with last night left a ripe mango on my hallway shelf. I ate it for breakfast with Greek yogurt. Yum-a-licious. Lots to do today, although I’m still wondering whether I ought to go to the balance class at 10. Still have sore and tender places from where I fell last Thursday.
There’s a party for everyone in the building tonight but I’m due at rehearsal, so we’ll have to see. At least we don’t have to wear costume tonight, because it’s a brush-up rehearsal.
Stupid villain Trump, who hates windmills, keeps trying to defund and get rid of our offshore windmills, which are saving Goddess knows how much in energy. WHY do Americans elect morons to the highest office in the land?
Well, I am skipping balance class. I still ache in certain places so I don’t think leaping about and lifting weights is going to do anything for that. I might go back to bed.
I did see Herself last night, more than half-full. Of course I was the only one who noticed Her as we were walking back to dinner. She was right over our heads.
Come on, rain! Wishing a good day to all at the Pond!
Good morning, 54 and cloudy in Bellingham today. Between the big garden pruning project and the family lunch on Sunday I’ve been busy and managing the resulting pain has been difficult. But it’s all done and I’m recovering so all’s as well as can be. Ron just left for a walk in the woods, Ava will be here to paint another section of the garage wall, and I’ve got a hot cup of tea to sip while keeping my legs elevated. Best wishes to all.
Good afternoon, meeses! Tuesday …
It is 84 degrees which is the expected high today. The weather widget says mostly cloudy but it is mostly sunny in my opinion.
I have had two fractured days trying to connect with users and their computers which followed two stressful days troubleshooting problems. I am finally at the point where I can sit and take a break so that is what I am doing. A nap sounds good!
Last night the fullish moon was beaming in through one of my bedroom windows. She will be full on May Day in the morning but I won’t see her until afternoon when she rises over the mountains. We are expecting rain so she might not be visible at all here.
It is funny how the media is breathless over a BlueSky user who shares liberal ideas and may promote violence when every single day Musk’s website Xitter is filled with hundreds of thousands of nazis and insurrectionists and white supremacists blatantly calling for the elimination of all people of color. Meh. Advocating for violence is never okay but that behaviour should be called out on right wing social media also.
See all y’all later!
