Good “morning”, Motley Meese! The week begins …
Morning low of 79 degrees in the Desert Southwest 🌵 with an expected daytime high of 99. Partly cloudy skies with a chance of an afternoon or evening thunderstorm. The monsoon season starts tomorrow, on June 15th, and “chance of rain” will become a more common part of the forecast and often means nothing other than acknowledging the season.

Good morning. Last night’s music diary was okay, not huge but there were some good posts. This morning, I’m reading a fascinating thread on Blue Sky about rocks on Venus that are much younger than previously thought. I had no idea how much surface detail we can see on Venus from radar. Eating breakfast while my tea steeps. Happy Barack Obama Appreciation day to all!
It’s 66 heading for 76 and overcast. Yesterday we generated 14.48 KWHs and the m-t-d at 182.68 lost more ground.
We’ve got a day we can have the windows open and go without A/C. Tomorrow’s a maybe on going all day without the A/C but the overnights will be low enough that it’s possible. Considering how cloudy it’s been/is being this month anything to take some of the strain off the A/C is good.
Xitter finally hit the point where I was either gone for good or had to pay to play as it were. I hit my “posting limit” after a single post setting up my Mutual Aid thread. I did all the things that usually make that go away – RTing & and liking posts, replying to posts. refreshing my screen, even logging out and back in. Nope. I wasn’t going to be able to post anything if I didn’t pay up. I don’t know if my boosting folks in need really is bring them help but it definitely brings them the comfort of knowing someone cares and is trying. So I paid up. But it really pisses me off. At least I’m using Ebil Muskrat’s own platform to try to help people he’s trying to kill. And I’d best be about doing that – on Xitter, Bluesky, and occasionally on Spoutible as well. Good Sunday morning, Moosekind! Have just been watching the Formula 1 race in Barcelona on TV. It took me 15 minutes to get the race on the TV, I’m not a natural sports fan.
It’s 84 F. and cloudy in Ashburn. We’re supposed to have storms starting at 5 o’clock. We’ve had a whole inch of rain this month, fancy that. There’s no dinner service today so I will have to rush out to Trader Joe’s and buy some stuff, including a salad, for dinner.
Yesterday got away from me completely, of course, but I did get a lot of stuff done. I gave the Shred Truck a handsome contribution. This afternoon I need to focus on laundry and “track changes” for the mss.
Wishing everyone at the Pond a good day. The great orange Satan keeps whining that it needs money. I’ll give it money the day it reinstates bfitz. In the meantime, happy Barack Obama Appreciation Day!
Good morning. We had thunderstorms, I woke up at 3:30. Hope I can stay awake all day.
It’s 65 heading for 82 lightly cloudy and even trying to be sunny. Yesterday we generated 8.63 KWHs and the m-t-d at 191.31 is woefully behind.
Had the windows open all day yesterday and overnight. It’s 72 in the house and I’ll close up when outside temps get there. They were mowing in the ‘development’ yesterday evening and even with the rain earlier that sent up a lot dust along with the grass pollen so I took a Benadryl last night. I don’t know why but Benadryl is only marginally effective for what it’s intended to do and even then only during the 4 hours it’s supposed to work but it keeps me groggy for days. Sigh. Good morning, meeses! Monday, Monsoon Day 2026 …
It is 79 degrees in Tucson 🌵 with an expected daytime hig of 97. Mostly sunny with a 13% chance of rain. The monsoon started about 5 hours early with a huge storm arriving about 7pm, causing the lights to flicker once and giving us a lightning infused light show and nearly an inch of rain! The rain got intense for a period of time, dumping a half inch from 9:30pm and 10:45pm. Since it was dark, we couldn’t see if the wash was running but I will definitely be taking the concrete paths on my walk today. I don’t mind seeing the washes filled from the second story but crossing over them right after a major storm is not a great idea.
I hope the Orange Dumpster’s Bread and Circus cage match was rained out. Although, really, the White House and grounds are not “sacred space” – it was trashed in 2017 and the trashing went into overdrive in 2025 along with the monuments and other reminders of the 250 years since some guy said “all men are created equal” when he really meant “all white male christian property owners are created equal.” Nothing much to celebrate there. In my mind, the promise of this nation’s founding documents was not realized until Barack Obama was sworn in as president on January 20, 2009. Sadly, that exploded the white male christianist’s heads so we got Trump 1.0, an election stolen with Russian help, an insurrection, a brief respite and then Trump 2.0. Goddess help us survive this and get things back on track.
I have a morning of small tasks that I am going to finish up before I start in on building my weekly to-do list. I am going to take some time off at the end of the week and take a trip into the mountains of New Mexico for the Juneteenth long weekend.

Good morning, 68 and light clouds in Bellingham today. Hans is making good progress, but is still pain limited re using his arms and torso. His new doc continued the pain meds for a month so he is more comfortable, just needs to be very careful with activity and not disturb his healing ribs. He will be here with us this week, with time spent at his house for a few hours during the day. And Elsa will stay with Lisa. She is settled into her summer camp in Edmonds, but we miss her.
I’ve been puttering around in the garden, mostly just being outdoors. I miss the flowers I’m usually planting but it’s a relief to have fewer plants to tend so I’m adjusting. Yesterday I made an outdoor arrangement using garden greens, dried hydrangeas, fake flowers and real lavender….it looks interesting and was easy to do. Best wishes to all.
Afternoon, Meese! In a few minutes I’ll be leaving for youngest grandchild’s graduation. The sky is partly cloudy and it’s not even hot, it’s 75 F. Errands took FAR too long this morning. See you tomorrow!

Tuesday Meese. A normal weather day ahead
Good morning. Getting ready for work, going to the gym at lunch to lift weights. Hope everyone has a good day.
It’s 63 heading for 87 heat index 90 and sunny at the moment. Yesterday we generated 19.43 KWHs and the m-t-d at 210.74 gained a smidge.
Our lovely 2-day respite is over – the overnight tonight/early morning is predicted to be 70 and we may or may not be able to open up in the morning, depending on how humid it is. But it’s been a lovely 2 days with the A/C off and the windows open. They’re open right now. I’ve still got a few hours before we have to close up again. Comes under the heading of appreciate whatever you can find to appreciate. Because there’s not a lot in the wider world to take comfort in.
I really shouldn’t take Benadryl – it leaves me groggy for days. I’m still groggy from taking it Sunday evening. Oh well. At least my hands seem to be OK. That’s the lovely part of summer/warm weather – my hands don’t ache. So. I need to get my groggy mind in gear. Even though I won’t actually post my daily MA threads for another half hour I need to get all my tabs up and get ready to post. Good morning, 67 and cloudy outside my windows today. We’re all weary so today needs to be a quiet day. Hans will find a good book, Ron will tend to his veggie garden and rest in his study, and I hope to visit a garden shop and just enjoy the flowers. Best wishes to all.

It is 102 in Tucson with the humidity finally dropping below 30%. Sunny and dry today but we may see some rain tomorrow.
I got three errands done today so I can stay home tomorrow and get some paying work done. Right now I am waiting for the A/C guy to diagnose the a/c unit that stopped putting out cool air yesterday. This morning it started working again. I suspect low coolant but we shall see.
The ghastly mess that the tRump administration is making of the DC reflecting pool is a metaphor for his entire time in public life – try to fix something with a sweetheart deal to a pal using someone else’s money have it turn out badly then try to fix it using chemicals/techniques that will kill living things coming near it.
