Week-long Welcomings from Moosylvania: April 12th

Welcome to The Moose Pond! The Welcomings posts give the Moose, old and new, a place to visit and share words about the weather, life, the world at large and the small parts of Moosylvania that we each inhabit.

Welcomings will be posted at the start of each week (usually Saturday night with a Sunday date). To find the posts, just bookmark this link and Voila! (which is Moose for “I found everyone!!”).

The format is simple: each day, the first moose to arrive on-line will post a comment welcoming the new day and complaining (or bragging!) about their weather. Or mentioning an interesting or thought provoking news item. Or simply checking in.

So … what’s going on in your part of Moosylvania?

NOTE: The comments page will split off after 20 or so left margin comments with the most recent comments on the current page. To see the older comments, scroll to the bottom of the page (right before “Leave A Reply”) and use the Pages Tool to view previous pages, shown here with 3 pages of comments available and Page 2 circled.

  1. So last night at the orange place, my comments in C&J were “pending approval”, dunno what that’s about. Anyway, happy Saturday. I’m just doing my normal thing: kickboxing, groceries, cooking. I’m too nervous to drive way out in the country for the AIDS Ride activities. I raised the money ($2,271) that’s the important thing.

  2. Good morning, meeses! Saturday …

    It is 55 degrees in Tucson 🌵 with an expected daytime high of 84. Sunny skies are in the forecast. The waxing crescent moon should be rising in the ENE at about 6:21am MST. I should be able to see her after she clears the mountains.

    I have a stack of started projects that I have to sort through this morning plus March accounting projects so I will skip reading the news.

    See all y’all later!

  3. Good Saturday morning, Meese. It’s 65 F. on a lovely morning more reminiscent of September than April. Our high today will be around 80 F. Wish I could see Her, but will have to wait.

    Tomorrow will be my “do nothing” day. Feeling rather subdued because M’Daughter’s brother-in-law is on life support after a massive stroke. Feel so bad for him. He’d hoped to retire and start enjoying life in Boston. (They live here in Fairfax County.) One of our Drama Club costumers is in the hospital on a ventilator. Family are flying in from various places. AND one of my favorite guys here, a guy whom I saw sitting outside the Pub with his wife as they waited for a table on Thursday night, apparently suffered a diabetic seizure in the restaurant. My BFF, who lives on his floor, is trying to find out what happened to him.

    Plans for the day include errands, studying the script (we open next week), exercise, Drama Club meeting at 2, meeting my friend for dinner at 5, and seeing “Hamnet” afterwards. Friend’s daughter told her it was really good.

    I’m pleased with what the rowing is doing for my figure. I’d better skedaddle if I want to accomplish everything I’ve planned. Wishing a good day to all at the Pond!

  4. It’s 47 and cloudy – I haven’t seen the moon since She was full but at least we got .8″ rain overnight – heading for 61 and maybe sunshine in the afternoon. Yesterday we generated 11.62 KWHs and the m-t-d at 206.45 not heartening.

    Best I can say about the new DK is Kos had best jettison the AI and get some real programmers in there if he wants his legacy to outlive him. But at least I did find Black Kos yesterday and boosted it at Xitter, Spoutible, and Bluesky.

    I’ve got peanut butter raisin bread in the oven – it’ll come out in about 15 minute – and I hope it comes out OK. I reversed the flours – instead of 2 cups oat flour and 1/2 cup sorghum flour I did 2 cups sorghum flour and 1/2 cup oat flour – so we shall see what we shall see. I hate it when I do stuff like that. It smells good anyway. Meanwhile I’d best be about my boosting day. Holding the Good/Healing/Protecting Thought for everybody. {{{Meeses}}}
